Toybox - where can I find a deep one?

I haven't done an extensive search but have had no luck in IKEA or Freedom.

I'm looking for a deep toybox for DD - one that I can open easily without bending too far (have a dodgy back).

Where did you get yours and how much was it?

We couldn't find on in the shops so DH made one from MDF timber. We actually put a drawer on the bottom of it and the toybox on top so that DS was able to have all the smaller toys in the drawer and the larger ones in the box part so he and us weren't pulling everything out to get to something right down the bottom of it. If you are keen to make one it cost us under $150 for materials and paint.

I hear you! DH and I spent the last four or five weeks searching for a good toybox cos we wanted to get DS one for Christmas. None of them were right, they were either too small, had silly lift of lids or were ridiculously expensive. Then yesterday we popped into Baby Bunting to grab a few things and found exactly what we were looking for.

It's a really good size, made from untreated timber (pine or something like that but it can be stained or painted) and has a padded leather lid (so you can use it as a seat/ottoman), ours is red, but there were a range of colours available. It was $150 which we thought was a pretty good price, DH had looked at what it would take to make one and we worked out that to buy everything he needed we would be looking at around $200.
