That's interesting, Trish. Gabby follows a very similar routine but she got herself into it. The 6-8 month guide will be handy for me to refer to once she is starting to eat more food.
Thanks for sharing that!
Hey Trish, just wondered - they say 3 solids meals a day for 6-8 months, but Zander isn't starting until next week - are you supposed to go straight into 3 meals?
I was wondering the same thing, Sarah. Gabby's only on 1 meal a day atm. Maybe it's just what you build up to over those 2 months. I've heard they start to look for more food pretty quickly.
I went to a similar place in QLD called Riverton where there are nurses who work at both Tresillian & Riverton, they told me that these routines can vary depending on when you introduce solids, so bubs who have been on solids from 4mths, by the time they are 6 months they are having 3 meals a day, but when you are introducing foods etc you start with one meal a day until you have a few standard foods you are feeding & can introduce a second meal. So when Matilda was 6 months she had 2 meals a day with rice cereal in the morning & vege paste stuff in the arvo.... then within 2 months she was on 3 small meals a day.
What Christie says is right. Unfortunately they just didn't write that on their forms. I bet it confuses alot of first time mums.
Tehya was only on 1 meal of solids a day before we went in. After having her milk feeds cut back to 4 hourly I upped her solids to 2 a day as she was hungry. She will eat pretty much most things that I give her now, including bits of toast 8-[
It does say on the forms that the routine is only a guide as all babies are different.
Thanks Trish!!! Izzy is in this sort of routine too that she sort of got herself into -(with a little nudge from mwa ) and has even gone back to feeding in the middle of the night - aawwww nice for her !! Hehee hopefully by the time she starts solids at 6mths that feed will drop off again!!
Wow... Oskar is in a routine very similar to the 4-6 month (without the early morning feed) and he did that himself... amazing. I never knew there was a pattern so to speak.
