We have the TV quite a bit, some days it's all day & other days it's not on until Zander goes to bed. Most of the time he's busy playing & only glances up when music comes on that he likes. If he was sitting watching all day every day then I'd be a bit more strict I think, but usually it's just background noise. We usually have on one of the kids channels, music channels or some sort of documentary.

most of the time the Tv is on all day. but Ike Isn't interested in it most of the time. he will sit and watch something if he is tired or sick.

most of the time its on something like sunrise in the morning, the lunch time news ETC he will watch seseme street but usually plays at the same time.

we spend the arvo outside so TV doesn't matter at that time of day.

I use it to keep my brain from turning to jelly. there are only so many times you can play blocks without other adult stimulation in the background.

Playhouse Disney is on for most of the day....

In the morning theres no TV til both girls are fed...then it goes on (so around 9am). Goes off when Chelsea is in bed....and then when she gets up....i put it on for the rest of the day.

Its more just back ground noise. Chels wont just sit there and stare at it....only if her fav shows come on...then she gets jigging and dancing!

Im the same...tv was ALWAYS on from birth...!

Jasmine isnt a tv fan...so my old tricks dont work with her (ie: if upset tv will calm..LOL)

Mmm, I've been thinking about this lately too! I've been in the habit of having it on ALOT since DS was born, mainly because I would spend so long on the couch BFing LOL. I obviously don't spend any time on the couch these days and it still seems to be on quite a bit, but no one watches it! Well, sometimes I stop as I'm passing by to check out the Gilmore Girls or something like that it's not on kids channels here! And I have to confess that I save all my washing until Gilmore Girls is on, a couple of times a week, and then DS plays with his toys while I watch TV and fold washing!

I think I'm going to make a concerted effort to leave it off though, it can't be good for the enviroment. Different story if someone's actually watching it, but that's not really happening in our house.

This has been a topic of discussion in our house lately!

DH will happily just have the TV on ALL THE TIME and it drives me a bit nuts.....I hate having it on if nobody is watching it and for 'background' noise I would rather put on the radio or pop on a CD. I only have it on during the day if there is something I want to watch or if DD is up then I will put Sesame Streeet or Hi Five on for her and then turn it off when the show is finished. Now to convince DH to do the same won't be easy !!!

We have it on in the morning from around 7-9.30 depending on what our routine is for the day- ie if we have to take Gaby to kindy then it goes off at 8.30. Usually doesnt come back on again till late arvo, around 3pm if I can help it. Upon saying that some days when Gaby is having a lazy day we will turn it on whilst Alex is having his mid-day nap but that is maybe only twice a week.
