    Urgent immunisation help please!!!

Hi i am after some quick help please

My son is due for his 18 month immunisations this morning at 9.30,
he has woken up extremely upset and subsequently filled a nappy (well over filled and filled his pyjamas also) with dioreahh. (sp)

I am torn as to whether to have the jab done. On one hand, he must feel like crap, i am treating it with lots of fluids and panadol to bring his very very slight tempreture down.

Should i still have them done? on one hand he does normally get a little grizzly after his jabs, so would i be making it worse for the poor little fella? or should i jsut get it all over and done with. i dont want him feeling like poop, then 2 days later getting the jabs and feeling like poop again! should i just get all the yucky feelings that he is going to go through over and doen with? or delay it a bit????

You are meant to delay them if bub is unwell when they are due. The nurse should ask before they are done and if bub has been sick they won't usually do them (well, they aren't supposed to).

    Personally I would wait.

I personally wouldn't give them to him if he is unwell already. Waiting another few days or week is not going to hurt any.

I too would delay it until he's feeling better. Maybe give it a week or so.

If your DS is unwell it would be best to delay until he is better.

You usually can't get them done (it's against policy but exceptions are made for at-risk situations like disasters etc.) if the child has been ill in the 48 hours before. If i were you i'd delay.

I too would tend to think they wont do it........Cooper had a slight temp and diareah at his 12mnth ones I was told to come back when it cleared up.

Definitely delay it. Otherwise if DS gets worse (not likely but you never know), then you won't know whether it is because of the immunisation or his illness. Keep them separate to make the symptoms/illness easier to treat!!!!

I would recommend delaying the immunisation as well until he's been well for a good 48 hours...
