    Cool Height at 2 years

    Hi

Wondering if any one has heard if you measure the height of your child at 2 years and double it that is how tall they will be when they growup.

My DH brother did this with his boy and thought no way as it mean his would be over 6 feet and they are all average to short. But he is now in his 20's and over 6 feet, so I cannot wait to measure my little girl.

Thought people might be interest to try it out.

Yes I have and we aren't too sure if it's true or not because Masons height doubled at 2 would be 176cm's tall or 5'8". He could be taking after me in the height department but all the men in both my and DH's families are 6' plus. DH is the shortest of his brothers at 6'2".

We've got a long wait to see if it's true

I've heard of this and was recently handed some paperwork by DD's kindy on development of 2yr & 3yr olds and there is a calculation but says to do it from 3yrs:

"Adult height can be predicted from measurements of height at 3yrs of age; males are approximately 53% of their adult height, females 57%."

My DD is 96cm tall at 28mths old!!!! Doubling it would make her 192cm tall!!!

Theres also one where they determine adult height from the size of your hand.
My brother was supposed to be about 6ft tall I think, and he's 6f 4, so not too far off.

it isn't taken from their height at 2yrs, can't remember exacty what it is supposed to be, but it is slightly over that. If the theory was true though, DS would be a giant at 2mt tall - he has since slowed down in his growth and is now slightly above average - the men in DH's family are all 6ft or over so no doubt he will be tall. DD 1 will be average like me and DD2 will be supermodel tall LOL, but she's only grown about 2cm in the last year

I think it's supposed to be 2 years 4 months from something I read once. Apparently the first two years is when people do the most growing over their entire life, weird huh?!

i have heard this theory too.... and my parents measured me when i was 2 years old, and at 2yrs i was 3 foot tall. i am now just a smidge under 6 foot tall, so i guess it was true for me!

(my parents were always worried that i would be too tall to find a boyfriend.... ha!)

My mum told me of this and it was spot on with my sister and I. We have looked at our baby books and it has our height recorded at two which is half of our height now! Can't wait to try it out on my bub!

Wow that would make my daughter 172cms tall as an adult. She'll be way taller than me, I'm only 160cms.
