What to do about this behaviour??

DD is 17 months and a very active baby, she talks well and although she does get frustrated sometimes she normally manages to get her point across pretty well to solve any problems she has.
The last 4 or 5 days she has become VERY clingy, i cant put her down without a full on tanty, which isnt normal for her.
She has also stopped listening and seems to be getting very frustrated quickly. If i try to distract her with something she will just grab it off me and throw it across the room in an outburst! I can she the anger in her face at times, If there is something she doesnt want to do ie.put sun cream on, she will scream and flap her arms and go bright red.

She has some big teeth coming in and i just presumed it was that and for a few days really been sympathetic towards her outbursts, but everything takes ten times longer to do as im trying to explain it to her and get her to be comfortable putting the cream on etc, and she seems to be doing it more, im starting to worry that it isnt her teeth, (no temps etc and never had this reaction with her other big teeth coming in), and that if i dont react in the right way to this behaviour i could be doing something wrong.

Ive always worried about how to deal with this kind of stuff.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
    TIA

It might just be the teeth, DD was pretty feral when her big molars were coming through although we had had quite a lot of teeth come through with no drama whatsoever. Also she might be coming down with something. See how she goes over a few days, whatever it is might become clear... or go away. GL

Tanties are pretty normal around this age though, and DD is basically the same - she is working on her eye teeth so she's not in the best of moods these days, but the tanties can't completely be blamed on that, she's just not in a good mood to start with.. LOL

We try not to laugh at her tanties sometimes but god its hard... I find them quite amusing myself. But we do try and help her, if something is stuck and she wants it undone, we'll help, or we'll try to lighten the mood and say "oooh silly thing!! won't come off/apart/undone" whatever, or if all else fails, we'll put her on our lap and watch an episode of in the night garden or something!!! lol

Sometimes she does it because she is hungry/tired/thirsty too - so we'll offer a drink, a snack, or early to bed!

Yeah we have a fair few tanties these days too, although its worse when she is at daycare so not sure if she is picking it up from there or if she is just really tired. When she throws herself on the ground to do a big dramatic boohoo, we get down there with her.... takes the wind out of her sails!
