Symptoms - not sure what's wrong?

My dd is 5 1/2 months old and is has been formula-fed since birth. In the last week she has gone from 1 poo every couple of days to 3 or 4 really stinky runny ones every day. We have taken samples and the Dr has sent them off but I won't know results until Wednesday. Apart from this, everything else has been normal - her temp is fine, she's eating and sleeping great and hasn't been losing weight or been cranky. Ths weekend I've noticed she is weeing a lot less than normal as well (only a couple of small ones a day). Have any of your kids had anything like this before? I don't know if it's just a bout of gastro or something more serious, and I really don't want to wait until Wednesday to find out.

Have you started solids yet? Was there anything new introduced if you have?...

The only other thing is teething, maybe??? I'm not sure why she would be weeing less unless she has an infection as well... like a UTI, I suppose she would get a temp then as well. If you've been to the GP then there isn't much more you could do. The poo samples would be checked for lactose intolerance( I wouldn't think so seeing as you haven't had issues before) and bacterial infections like giardia, salmonella etc... Hopefully its not one of those!!!

Yeh i was going to ask if you have started solids yet? Jesse has been FF since 9 days old and use to only poo once a day also and since he's started eating proper food he now does anywhere between 3-5 poos per day! Theyre not runny though.. but not hard.. kinda hmmm.. like an uncooked cake mix lol thats all i can think of.
I hope she is ok and the results come back good.

My DD had this a few weeks ago (sudden change in bowel movements with no temp etc). Turned out to be an unspecified gastro bug (they couldn't find the bug responsible in a poo sample) which then became secondary lactose intolerance. She is fine now - back to her old poo habits minus the thick, dark green sludge consistency and we have just begun re-introducing formula containing lactose and had no problems so far (touch wood!). I hope your DD doesn't have anything too serious and recovers well.

Yes this happened to Josh when he started teething, he too had no fevers or any other symptoms! Hope all goes well!
