Cool when did you stop wrapping your baby?

So as the title suggests, i want to know when or why you stopped wrapping your baby to sleep.

Ds is nearing 4 months and is wrapped to sleep ONLY at night. He will happily sleep unwrapped for hours during the day.

I wondering if i should bother with the night wrapping at all and get him in a sleeping bag thingy. My only hessitation is that the wrapping is part of our night routine of bath, boobie, wrap then bed and this works well for us.

The main reason i am thinking of stopping is that lately when he wakes for a night feed he has worked his arms out (he likes to suck his fingers) and they are getting cold unwrapped. I dont want to put long sleeved tops on him to sleep as he gets too hot in them.

I probably should just try it but i am interested to hear when and why others stopped first

We stopped wrapping her arms at day 3 and the rest at about 3 weeks. lol
    Sorry, probably doesnt help much!!
Charlotte hated being wrapped and has always moved alot, kicked and tossed etc while sleeping so yeah! Got rid of that quick smart and she instantly went form sleeping in 2 hour blocks to 4 hour blocks.

I did have a couple of Baby Sacks I call them lol the sleeping bags with arms, like grobags, just got the fleecie ones from KMart or whereever, they were ace, she loved them, until she rolled at 4 months, then they would get wrapped around her and she hated them.

If it is part of your routine, perhaps weaning him off it may help - like stop wrapping his arms for a week or so and then the legs?
    Good luck!

we went to a grobag at 9 weeks no hassle changing and going into grobag is now part of bedtime routine.

We have solids, play, bath, story, play, sleeping bag, boobie, bed

    Good luck

at about 4 months we stopped because DS started rolling, before that it was also part of our routine and DS couldn't sleep without being wrapped at all!! so it was 2 hard weeks of sleepless nights and days, but we got there in the end. i replaced the wraps with a grobag and he loves them now! i'm so glad we did it because now he's moving so much he always ends up sleeping on his tummy.
we do solids-play-bath-grobag-boobie-sleep, works well for us.

Sorry hun, I'm no help at all... both my children hated being wrapped so DD would have been about 2 weeks old & DS maybe 3 weeks?

I say give it a try & see how he goes. It's all trial & error.

    Good luck!
