She doesnt seem interested in her toys anymore, she wont sit still to look at books or read them, TV used to interest her but now 10 seconds and she is off crawling.
We play peek-a-boo, 'Wheres mummies nose, eyes, mouth' etc, sing, clap etc
But she just seems to be bored
What do you do with ur 9 month olds for fun and enjoyment???
Ok, Jack loves books and being read to, but I guess that won't work for you. Other things we do are drawing and craft (he loves this and would do it for ages), swings, walks, lego duplo, toy cars, they love to pretend to do things at that age - shopping, cooking, tea parties etc - a tea set and a toy kitchen can keep a littlie amused for ages, action songs, that's about all I can think of for now. Tom loves to push things around either while crawling or if it has enough support, while "walking", he loves anything that makes noise - Jack's toy keyboard, toys with buttons that makes sounds, etc, again songs, especially action songs, he likes to eat books, but a touch and feel one might keep him amused for a while, also he loves playing with all of Jack's toys - especially the cars and trains. HTH.
Kim, Matilda was the same way. I think once they are very mobile they can get bored. Matilda only started watching TV after she was 2.
We do heaps of interactive games, we would do some drawing together with crayons for 5-10 minutes and then off to something else. We got a swing on the verandah for her to swing her in, we would go outside for a crawl in the dirt & then straight into a bath. We started blowing bubbles. Play group. As much as I didn't like playgroup, Matilda loved the social aspect.
Musical intstruments are great, turn on the radio and play along.
One thing with this age is they really want to interact with someone socially. So they don't do independant play very well at all. If she is active have a look at getting some fisher price swing, or some toys that encourage it, ball pit, tent & tunnel.... etc... these are great fun for them to throw all the balls out, get in & out of and putting balls back in. Goodluck!!
I know right now the less running around the better for you, so maybe set up an activity area... *hugs* its hard when you are pregnant and your little one wants your attention all the time.
about the only thing that really cures DS boredom is going outside, whether it be for a play in the backyard or a wal in the pram he instantly turns into a happy boy. If the weather is awful and going outside really isn't an option the he loves sitting in the bath, even after the water drains out.
It is really hard when you have a bored bub, hope you find some fun ways to entertain her.
Playdoh is easy and cheap to make...my 6 year old still loves it. There's a no-cook recipe on the ABC Kids website - I get the bigger bottles of bright food colouring and make the colors very vibrant so it holds their interest longer.
Lego is big in our house, as is painting - make potato stamps to dip in the paint and also mix food colouring with flour and water as a really gooey, pasty finger paint....it's lots of fun...tape butchers paper up and let the kids go to town with that.
