Oh i hope i come home with something and if i do i'll be sure to let you know. What is with the can't make up their mind if they want a hug or not?? Our bedtime routine seems to be a vicious circle until she finally gives in.

So i think i have everything organised, various babysitters for various days, times on where the kids need to be and when. DD has been actually quite placid the last few days (of course :rolleyes:) and this is why it's taken me this long to get here. I get desperate and then she settles for a bit and that's when i think 'no it's not perfect but i can do this' and then she gets all difficult again and i know something needs to be done. So we'll soon see what she chooses to be for the next few days.
Wish me luck girls, i hope we are able to get something sorted out for the better, for both of us.
How did everything turn out?
I think I'm at the sleep school point with my DS (almost 14 months). Everything I have tried, including diet changes, have done nothing. I'm getting a bit desperate but DP is deadset against sleep school :/
I ended up going to O'connell Family Centre in Canterbury. I have taken away nothing but positives from my stay, it was such a good thing for DD and I, a little werid to comprehend i'm sure but i'm so happy i finally went. The staff that i experienced were great, very supportive and were very willing to listen to what you were and were not comfortable with. I did a residential stay and they do their best to keep the staff consistant (day shift, afternoon shift, then night shift). They offered a couple of info sessions, one on sleep, one for the mums and one for the dads on a Wednesday night.
I went knowing that it could be a little tough, it may involve some crying but that i would listen to myself, my DD and follow the lead of the staff and speak up if i felt i needed to. I knew i had to make some changes and i'd made a fair few already on my own but i didn't feel i could do this last bit on my own.
If your DP is a little unsure maybe he could go with you. There were a few mums and dads that stayed and worked on the settling together. I didn't realise dads could stay also but for us it would have been a little tricky as we have the boys also.
Call up, have a chat, get your name on the waiting list as it can take some time to get in and see what you feel. If you get an ok feeling go with it, if not just see how you go. I made the phone call for OFC early this year, i had the paper work sitting at home for a month or more before i filled it in and sent it off.
