I have always been so positive with my daughter, never saying things like "she's naughty" but today, well it's a different story!!
The past 2 or 3 days she's been so stubborn and demanding...throwing things, hitting me while feeding, pointing and yelling at things and last night was the worst. We tried to settle her from 2 - 4 - DH played with her, cuddled her, tried to give her milk. I gave up at 4.30 - I fed her then she was up again at 6.30!!! I thought she would at least sleep in being so tired but nope!
So tired this morning and then when I give her brekfast she pours her smoothis everywhere then throws vegemite sandwich on floor. Normally she at least tries them. I know this isn't terrible stuff but I swear she has beconme naughty - she has an evil glint in her eyes today!!!!
Just venting really - anyone else's one year old turned on them?
My little lad is learning the same tricks. He just grabbed the washing basket of folded clothes and tipped them everywhere and promptly ran off . His new trick is to get up on the couch and try to jump off depsite knowing this is not allowed. If I have to say 'sit down' one more time it's going to do my head in.
We've just introduced a naughty corner. If he doesn't listen to me when I ask nicely, I take him to the corner and sit him down. He usually stays there about 10 seconds before getting up. It seems to be a good way of letting him know whatever he is doing is not on without driving me bonkers.
Repeat after me "this too will pass"...."this too will pass"
LOL, i will totally swap you for a 2 year old who treats me as a consultant rather than a lawmaker and who is perfectly capable of looking after her own needs thankyou mummy - found her in the kitchen today, on the step she uses to get on the loo with, calmly buttering a piece of bread! WTF!? LOL.
Don't worry. They keep you at the end of your emotional rope just long enough that you know you will definitely throttle them if they continue and then you get a few days of your little angel back, and then the devil returns a bit worse than before, but your rope has been stretched by the previous tugging... I'm about a million times more patient than i've ever been and yet only half as patient as i need to be to cope with DD's "adventures" without having a stroke every 3rd day...
