Thumbs down Why market a vapouriser thats not safe to use???

I've just come back from the chemist where I bought a vapouriser for DF and Blue....

NOWHERE on the packaging for the vapouriser or on the stuff you put inside it does it say anyhing about what age group to use it for.... no warnings or guidelines....

It's just that I am paranoid that I asked the pharmacist who told me it's not safe to use the Eucy stuff with babies.....
I can put plain water in it but nothing else...

What would have happened if I hadn't asked? Is it ust this pharmacists opinion or is it really not safe for babies??

I've always just used plain water, it works just fine. I have the Eucy but if I use it I put it on a tissue in my / his bed.

I've always used it too (and Vicks). Been using it with all my kids, for the last 16 years.

hmmmmmmmmmm................... We've all just recovered from Bronchitis and colds. DS's room had the vapouriser in there permanently with the Vicks in it. It's never been any different. He's going quite well and hasn't keeled over from Vicks poisoning.

As long as the babies are drinking it -I can't see an issue. I think your pharmicist has been drinking too much Vicks.

The one I have we can't put anything other than water anyway. I do the same as Kazbah though and put vicks on a tissue under sheets and now that he's older I put it on his singlet front and back. I haven't heard anything like you've been told either. I do still use the infant vicks btw.

Well, all things considered, it's not the responsibility of the vapouriser manufacturer to police all possible uses of their device, there are many, many different solutions you can add to it. It is more up to the people who manufacture the Euky vapouriser solution to put a warning on if it is not safe for babies.

I've just looked up the Euky website and it has no warnings about use in a baby's room, but I'll have a quick look at the literature and see if there are any problems. My gut instinct is that it is safe to use...
