3 week old not sleeping during day

    Hello,
Just curious if there are others out there. My 3 week old sleeps really well at night between 2 feedings. This morning I fed him at about 7.45am, we had brief tummy time and a cuddle then after yawns I put him in his cot. He stays awake til pretty much the next feed. At first he lies there quiet for around 2 hours but then starts crying. I rock him and he does settle for small amounts but then starts crying again so I feed him. Then he sleeps after that feed. This is something he has been doing for days now. Every time he is awake for a small amount after his feed (only ever around 20 minutes before he starts yawning) he does this. Is this reasonably normal?? I guess I just want reassurance that lots of other babies do this too??!! I just didn't want to get him in a habit of feeding him to sleep but I know he is also very young too..
Any advice or opinions would be appreciated! Thanks!

    hi there
i dont think we are having exactly the same thing here but it is similar...
my ds1 used to feed to sleep all the time, i found it hard to keep him awake after a feed...
ds2 (now 4 weeks) is always awake after i feed him. at night i just rewrap him and give him a quick cuddle and when he is drwsy i put him in his moses basket and off he goes to sleep within about 15 mins. during the day it is a diff story, he is more upset. i think he is starting to wake up to the world more... so i let him have a bit more awake time and then wrap him tightly and put him down. i try not to rock him to sleep (i did this with ds1 until he was 19 months!) but i do help him go to sleep more than at night, more rocking, patting, shushing. it takes him longer but eventually he goes to sleep. i figure at least he seems to be differentiating b/n day and night...
he stirs more in his sleep and i need to resettle - but then he will go into a deeper sleep a lot of the time. he def isnt sleeping most of the day like when he was brand new... hope that helps,i seem to have rambled. i think it is a hard time now when they are still so little but are starting to wake up more.
