    wont eat breakfast

DS1 refuses to eat breakfast most days.

Sometimes I can get him to eat some vegemite toast and have a drink of milk, but often he goes off to kinder or creche on an empty stomach as he will refuse to eat.

I have tried getting different cereals (one at a time not having lots of options) but he wont eat any of them.

    Any ideas?

porridge he will sometimes have but not always

My boys will eat weetbix most days, but they also love yoghurt, fruit and nuts for breakfast. That might be worth a try (not all together, although that could work too!).

Does he have morning tea quite early at creche?

i know it might be a pain to do in the morning but could you get your DS enthused about helping to make his own breakfast with you ... like spread the vegemite on the toast, put sultanas & a squeeze of honey on the porrigde, mash the weetbix in the warm milk, etc ...

My DD is almost 3.5 and she enjoys breakfast more since she started wanting to help to make her own breakfast ... she has her own little cheap plastic kids table in the kitchen to make it all on so it's easy for her to reach & it makes her feel it's ' her ' work station IYKWIM

I was like this as a kid and mum used to do everything she could to get me to get breaky. Milo milkshakes were a winner and she used to pop a raw egg in the blender with it just to get some protein into me - blurgh! I'm still not a big breaky person & my nephew is the same, will eat 1 wheatbix under duress & he's 7 now.

Good luck, I hope you find something that works as I am dreading my daughter being like this.

Our little ones are so challenging with their eating. At the moment DD isn't eating anything but fruit for brekky so every morning it's watermelon at the moment. I wish I could give you some more help but I'm basically flying by the seat of my pants and giving her what ever she will eat. She will often go to crehe after eating nothing for breakfast and they will give her something there as like your DS she will eat anything there. I was told that it is up to us as parents to provide our kids with nutritous food but we can't make them eat it - so that is what I'm working off at the moment.
    Best of luck darl.

What about a banana and some milk to drink?
I've taken to eating a banana for breakfast myself when I arrive at work or in the car as I drive to work.
