won't keep his nappy on, won't tt, at the end of my rope
Hi all, DS is nearly 2, has wee'd and poo'd in the potty maybe a couple of times (which is fine, I wasn't expecting him to start yet).
Just lately though he keeps taking his nappy off (ok, kids like to be nudie, I get that) but not going to the potty. So then he wees on the floor even if he's right near the potty and even though he knows what to do.
Today he took his nappy off so I sat him on the potty for about 5 mins. Nothing happened, so when he got off I didn't pursue it.
Within minutes he'd done a big wee all over my (washed yesterday) kitchen floor. For the first time ever I got really angry at him which I know is wrong and not helpful, but it was the 3rd time today, not including him taking his pooey nappy off in his cot when he woke from his nap this morning and getting poo everywhere.
I just don't know what to do or how to handle this. I can't make him go to the toilet, but unless he has an easysuit on I can't keep the nappy on either.
Please help, I'm losing my mind
LMAO at the tape. i would never have thought of that myself.
Have you tried asking him if he needs to go to the potty every 5 mins or so. I know its PITA but he can't think and reason yet, so you have to keep reminding him. Have you tried pull ups? Make sitting on the potty fun. Put it in front of the tv, play games, sit there and talk to him whilst he's on it.
I too hate it when they wee and poo and everywhere, but you have to keep reminding him
I was in your boat not too long ago. I decided if DD wasn't going to wear a nappy then she had to TT. It took me a full week on full on TT but we got there. Maybe he is telling you he is ready to TT but needs to be guided. Otherwise I'd be following a few suggestions from on here like putting the nappy on backwards/sticky tape. Good luck
