Work & Childcare today? What would you do?

Ok, so our situation today is that DD was not well last night. I'm not sure what it was but she woke 3 times last night crying. The last time she woke, I think she had a fever. She felt sweaty and hot, but I'm not sure if it was definately a fever or she was just hot, it was a warm night. But I gave her nurofen and she slept soundly til almost 7am. She has had a cough for the last few days and a snotty nose. I remember thinking last night when putting her to bed that her cough was sounding a little wheezy. And she was a bit miserable yesterday evening. This morning she is still coughing but not wheezy. She seems fine now, but I only gave her nurofen at 4am, so it would still be working. She's been playing with DS and doing her normal stuff, she seems fine.
I have to go to work today, only for 3hrs, but she will be in childcare for 4hrs. I don't know if I should go to work and risk her feeling bad again, or go and play it by ear. Do you think I should take her to the Dr and keep her home in case she really is sick, or is it just a cold??

personally here, DD is like that allot lately. As long as she has a clear nose and shes still playing hapilly i still send her. I just say to daycare to give me a call if she starts to go down hill again.
You might find once there with all the other kids, she'll be fine for a while.

    Thanks for that Jen

I'm still not sure what to do, but I have to decide SOON! I'm thinking of erring on the side of caution. DD is starting to get sooky she's coughing more and her nose is starting to run a bit yellowy and alot. I think the nurofen is starting to wear off a bit. Her cough sounds quite chesty too...I don't know if I'm being a hypochondriac for her though, lol! I just don't wnat her to go to cc and be miserable. I know they will call me, but I know she's a bit sick too....arrrgghh!!!

Go with your gut! If you can saty home with her without too much angst. I have pushed DD before and felt awful - so this is a reaction to my vow to not ever do that again.
It is a hard one - you know what will sit best with you and DD, also no point going to work and spending the whole time worrying or waiting for the call.
Good luck - hope everyone is better soon.

Yep, I agree with Mel (Arimeh)... also like Mak said, go with your gut. Oskar has just had a cold which had the chesty cough and Elijah then got it off him but his is apparently also an upper respitory infection. If you feel you need to go to the doc, then do that. Gut feelings are there for a reason. Hope she feels better soon.

yep if your gut feeling says she she not well then keep her home...
i err om the side of caution - i dont want to push DS if he is unwell and i also dont want to send him sick and risk other kids getting sick too..
