Question Bad breath - sorry not nice!

DD has started eating in past few months and in last 2 weeks had been drinking soy milk and only having one b/feed. My DH brushes her teeth with VERY small amount of toothpaste each day (well most) yet the last couple of days I've noticed her breath is quite stinky

Does this mean we need to brush more often - I think we'll go to twice a day now but could there be something else or is this normal? When she was b/fed her breath was soooooo nice!

i'm not 100% sure on the answer to that question. But when DD had bad breath i took her to the Dr's, turned out to be a throat infection. She also had a temp to go with it, but i thought it was from teething.

I think on-going bad breath in children is something that is worth getting looked at.....

I agree, it might be worth having a chat to your Dr about. Could just be nothing, but you never know.
DD's breath is bad when she gets a cold (I'm pretty sure mine is too! All that breathing through your mouth) but apart from that it's fine. And she stopped BFing at around 11 months. (Though she drinks cows milk not soy, but I've drunk plenty of soy before and didn't think it smells that bad?)
GL! Hope you find some answers.

Upset tummies can cause bad breath too. Maybe check for anything stuck between any teeth...if you can!

Do you do regular dentist visits - we were told to start these up from about 12months old, and will probably then do it 6monthly. So if you haven't done so already, might be worth a check up at the dentist.

We were also advised to clean their teeth at least twice a day (morning and night) and don't forget to floss (as difficult as this maybe...we haven't had to do this yet though).

when he brushes her teeth, see if he is able to brush her tongue down too. I find this helps alot with bad breath.
