16 month old DD's poos have become yellow and runny

On Thursday afternoon DD's poo was diareoh (can't spell) but it was just a once off so I put it down to the Rafferty's baby food that I had bought to try and had given her for dinner previous night. The following afternoon she had another runny poo. This one was yellow and a running out the nappy and all over the carpet kind of poo. She was also not overly keen on her food or milk that day and so I just gave her some toast for dinner and once again it was just the once off runny poo. Then yesterday afternoon she did 3 runny yellow poo's. And now this afternoon she's just done another one and I'm waiting to see if she does any more.

I'm a bit puzzled as to what to do as it's not constant. I've just been feeding her blandish foods and plenty of water. I haven't given her anything that she doesn't normally eat apart for that rafferty's meal back on Wednesday night. She has had a bit of a runny nose and cold but she does't normally get the runs with that.

    Any suggestions???

    Hi Spice,
Could she be teething? DS' poos become a bit like that when he's teething.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

It could be the effects of a virus - given she has a cold, runny nose and has been off her food - seems highly likely. My DS get funny poos like that when he has a virus.

Hope she gets better soon. Great that she is keeping up her fluids!

Hi Adkins & Ticklish, thank you for your replies.

Adkins, I thought I might have been teeth but today my poor bubba has come down with a fever and she's not very well at all so as Ticklish has suggested it must be a viral infection she's fighting. The runny poo's have kinda stopped today but now it's a fever we're dealing with and she is very out of sorts. Took her to the GP who was hopeless, so I'm just giving her panadol and trying to keep her cool.
