Baby Laugh - 4 month old

    Hi,

Just wanted your thoughts on the matter.

My darling daughter is a happy little thing, smiling lots. I have read that babies at four months should be laughing out loud. The thing is, my DD seems to laugh, but she does so either silently (mouth wide open) or with a sort of grunting noise. She clearly finds things funny and shows enjoyment in things but doesn't do the 'proper' laugh sound. Is this ok or should I see someone about this.

    Thanks!

Does she make other sounds? If so, I don't think there would be anything to be worried about... GL

As long as she is making other sounds I wouldn't be worried about it. maybe that's just her laughing style.

DD didn't make loud laughing sounds first off - we got a giggle at 8 weeks, then she was aaaaaaaaaages before she would let anyone hear her (i had cos i was with her all the time - but others no way!). sounds normal to me...

AR started her laughing with a grunt, she still does sometimes.
Give it a bit longer, it might develop...as the others have said if she's making other noises...it's probably all good

Yes, she makes lots of other noises, but only vowel sounds at the moment.
