    Could it be the vaccines?

Just trying to figure out what's going on with Sam at the moment. He's a child that's always been a once per day pooper if we're lucky and we often have to fight the constipation battle with him.

On Tuesday morning he had his 12 month vaccinations.

On Friday evening he pooped. Followed by Saturday morning, Saturday evening, Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon, Sunday night... and then an absolutely horrid exploda-poop this morning which has had me spot cleaning carpet, disinfecting bath tub, shower, bath toys, full bath for Sam, dry clothing for me - and I'm about to have a more thorough go at the carpet once he's asleep properly...

Could it be a reaction to the vaccines? Could it just be a tummy bug? Up until this morning they were all normal, formed poops, just a lot more frequent than normal. This one was much softer than normal but still not exactly runny. There's been no change to his diet so I don't think it's a food thing.

Just a bit paranoid as I can get sick fairly easily and I'm supposed to be avoiding contact with his bodily secretions for (as far as we can tell) three weeks after his MMR vax. I guess I just want to know whether I'm risking getting sick with one of the live viruses in the MMR, or just a plain old regular tummy bug.

And do you think it would be ok to start dosing him with Brauers stomach calm when I don't really know what's causing it?

If the poo is not loose, it may just be a change in his little system? Goodness knows, my toddler always kept me guessing, from going once a day, to frequent pooing and back to once a day.

If you're worried it's getting loose he may have picked up a bug. Does the info on the MMR vax suggest that tummy upsets could be a side effect?
