lol! He LOVES Milo Tweenie!
I've got to put a stop to him saying 'daaaaaarn-cing' instead of dan-cing though!
I'm encouraging him to sing with Grandad Tweenie, I like his accent.
Olivias fave song at the moment is
Shoo Fly...i think thats the title
shoo fly dont bother me (wave hand across face)

Cause I dont want your company.
She thinks its hilerious!
Ok people, I need "location" songs for 0-4 year olds, so songs or rhymes about "in" "on" "over" "under" "behind" "infront" etc.
Any suggestions? All I canthink of is the hokey-pokey.
The Grand Old Duke of York - has up and down.
Here we go Loopy Loo - that's a bit like the Hokey Cokey though.
The bear went over the mountain
The bear went over the mountain
The bear went over the mountain
To see what he could see
But all that he could see
But all that he could see
Was the other side of the mountain
The other side of the mountain
The other side of the mountain
Was all that he could see
How about something like She'll be coming round the mountain, but as well as wearing pink pyjamas and riding 6 white horses, maybe she'll be coming over a bridge, or coming through a tunnel, or coming behind an elephant, or before an alien invasion, or in a pirate ship... whatever else takes his interest!
oh I jut discovered "the bear went over the mountain" this morning, I'd not heard it before. Must have had a deprived childhood!
Mmm..might check out the playchsool webpage too.
Thanks for the suggestions!
His favorite song is "Vincent" by Don McLean and I also sing Broadway songs to him :-) I think he will grow up a singer!
I was singing to ds the other day and having trouble remembering some lines from songs, he just loves music and laughs at my terrible singing. Anyway i googled the words to the frogs song and it gave me a link to here, i never even thought of looking on belly belly (Derr). Should have known you can find everything on here.lol
Absolutely brilliant...it is all coming back to me now

i don't know if this is the right spot to post this, but i took my ds1 who is two to his first session of mini maestros this morning. if anyone else out there (all of us i am sure) has a littlie that loves to sing and dance then i highly recommend it. it was absolutely brilliant. my ds1 has been buzzing all morning from the songs and dances he has already learnt.
Tess LOVES us singing the old Cab Calloway song Minnie the Moocher (from the Blues Brothers movie)
Now folks let me tell you the story about MInnie (Tessie) the moocher
She was a lowdown hoochie-coocher
She was the roughest, toughes frail
But Minnie (Tessie) had a heart as big as a whale
Hidey Hidey Hidey Hi (Hidey Hidey Hidey Hi)
Hodey Hodey Hodey Ho (Hodey Hodey Hodey Ho)
Heedey Heedey Heedey He (Heedey Heedey Heedey He)
etc etc.
I think we must look funny singing the Hidey Hi's as she always cracks up and laughs and laughs at us which eggs us on.
It's on You Tube if you need the music!

The Little Mer-man
Deep beneath the ocean
Far beneath the sea
lives a little merman
who's much like you and me
He has ten little fingers
and a little button nose,
but down where his feet should be
there's fins instead of toes
oh funny little merman
swimming in the sea
funny little merman
he's just like you and me
he has a bright red mouth to kiss
and little shell like ears
and a mummy and a daddy
to take away his fears
oh funny little merman
swimming in the sea
funny little merman
he's much like you and me
he has two bright blue eyes to see
and light brown wavey hair
he has two arms to hold you tight
and lots of love to share
funny little merman
swimming in the sea
funny little merman
he's much like you and me
he has ten little fingers
and a little button nose
but down where his feet should be
there's fins instead of toes.

I love this thread! I'm just putting DD to bed, but I'll be back later to contribute...
When I was pregnant with DD3, my older two and I would sing her Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and it's now her favourite song. If she's crying, we break out in song and she starts giggling and coo'ing. I didn't really sing to my older two and wishing I did.
Always stuck with the basics; twinkle twinkle and row, row, row your boat.
