Beata70 so glad to hear that you feel much more at ease after the wonderful replies you've had here. Going with the flow is something I say to myself on a daily basis. I'm very like you and found myself worrying when I compared my little man to other babies especially worrying was it something I wasn't doing that meant he didn't seem to roll, crawl etc. Now that he is a little bit older (13 months) I am realising that they all really do things at their own pace and that its all okay. Its probably the only downside to support groups like Mothers Groups or Belly Buddys that it means we compare our babies the whole time. Gigi gave fantasic advice - wish I could word mine as well and make sure you come back and read it again when the doubt creeps back in! Xx

My DD1 didnt lift her head till over4 months so had physio
sat 10 months
rolled 10 months
crawled 12 months (all 3 styles)
walked 19 months
she had low tone but that dosnt account for how slow everything was she just use to think about things and wasnt worried about not moving. On the other hand DD2 is early doing everything and is nearly walking at 10 months so the fun begins.

I have found that all kids I know have their own late starts, just depends on the kid as to what that might be My own DS didn't sit until he was about 7 months old, used to really stress me out. He just had no interest, wouldn't even tolerate being propped up with cushions! He also didn't ever commando crawl which worried me until one day he just took off across the room! He didn't sleep through until he was almost one year old.

But on the other hand he cut his first teeth quite early and walked before he turned one, again just took off one day! Some kids I know older than my DS haven't stood on their own or said their first word yet, but slept really well from a young age or did something else early. It's really interesting to see how everyone is so different.

Thanks so much for your replies. Well, a bit of an update.....DS rolled all by himself about 2 weeks ago, and now loves to roll from his back to his tummy (hasn't quite worked out the other way). In fact, if I put him on his back within seconds he's on his tummy. He is also trying really hard to crawl, and gets really impatient if he can't reach a toy! lol. I give him a hand by putting my hands behind his feet so he has something to push against. Now that he does all that I have to watch him a bit more so he doesn't roll into something (we have a tiny 2 brdroom unit so space is an issue). And now I think it was so good when I used to pop him on his back and walk away for short periods of time as I knew he'd be in exactly the same position when I came back! Wow, how everyone used to tell me to enjoy them when they are stationary as the fun begins when they get mobile!

I think he might be teething though.......no red gums/bumbs/etc but he has been waking through the night crying for no apparent reason. He always used to sleep right through (apart from the occasional dummy falling out) for ages now, so I think something is up. DF also left for China a week ago and that's when he started to wake up through the night, maybe he is also missing his daddy??

DD and DS were both late starters (DS even had the advantage of being born with two bottom teeth, yet every baby in my baby buddies thread got more teeth thru quicker ).

Even with speech, I was especially concerned with DD as she was prem, but now, I've been told by the director of her child care centre that I should take her for testing as she is brilliant with numbers for her age.

They go through (in my case) a plateau every few weeks, then I'll start hearing new words, or seeing new skills, then we'll hit the plateau again and go thru the same process again.
