hi all. was hoping i could get some help
My bubbie has these very unusual reddish orange blisters coming up on his body. The first one appeared on his middle finger, started as a small break in the sking, then bubbled into a blister, and peeled back half the skin on his finger, it went a very orangie red colour and started weeping.
Another appeared on his leg, quiet large (about the size of a ten cent piece)
and another has appeared on his other middle finger, his groin and now 4 small ones have appeared on his chin and one on his nose.
They look like a blister, but they seem to peel back the skin around them and they are always a very orangie colour and weeping
any ideas? i was going to go to the docs, but thought id ask for your opinions first.
thanks
Have a google for Molloscum Contagiosum and see if that's what his blisters look like. All 4 of mine got is last year and it's a bugger of a thing to get rid of because its a viral illness (actually related to chicken pox) and you just need to wait till their immune system kicks in to get rid of it. And the other thing is you have to wash all bedding, towels and clothes daily and no sharing of baths either as it's pretty contagious. Using iodine on the blisters can help a little.
Other than that it could be hand, foot and mouth.
Either way in a baby so small I think you should take him to the Dr's
My oldest DD had molloscum contagiosum last year too. Her rash looked like tiny little warts all down one side of her body. If thats what it is it can last anywhere from 6 - 18 months. DD's didn't weep though. Not sure if that makes a difference.
DD couldn't have baths or share showers with the others as it spreads in warm water & a bath would've kept it spreading on her iykwim.
No other idea's though. Hope you find an answer.
Definitely take bubs to the Dr's for a professional opinion rather than Dr Google, take care and hope you get the answers and treatment very quickly.
