My sister had the chicken pox when we were young (I got it from kindy and kindly brought it home!), and later found out she didn't have antibodies. So she's had the vaccine, and she STILL doesn't have antibodies. She's now had chicken pox 4 or 5 times, always mildly, but she just doesn't build up antibodies to it. Weird.

Was on my way out and seen this, not weird at all. It's actually quite common.

And you know what? Vaxers now get the flack for just going with the heard and not doing their own research.....

I support free choice, but the image of my very sick baby sister was enough for me to make my choice.

Eenee, as I'm sure you well know by now, nothing you do as a parent will be 100% approved of by everyone. You'll get an oppinion on EVERYTHING you do. So you just go along, doing what you do, what is right for you & don't let anyone make you feel like they know better than you. Nothing in parenting is 100% guaranteed to be the right decision & people go back on what they thought was right all the time.

For me, I do believe my vaccinated children do possibly hold protection for their unvaccinated friends. If they work, its possible that they won't contract something that could be risky to an unvaxed child. Same reason myself & my parents got the whooping cough vaccine when DD3 was born. There were a few cases reported in our area & we wanted to be covered in those early days the best we could be.

There is no link between vaccines and autism. There is a theory about why some kids develop typically and then regress, and it has nothing to do with vaccines.
