What should I do??

DS started crying at 3 or 4pm yesterday. Refused to sleep & just constantly cried, or screamed.
We took him for a drive at 11.30 last night & he finally went to sleep.
Woke 4 or 5 times in about 6 hours & is now up & crying again.
He doesn't want to be held, but he doesn't want to be put down. He threw up the panadol I gave him & won't drink the juice I just put some nurofen in.
He's cold & sweaty & clammy.
No fever (he did have one 2 or 3 nights ago), no teething symptoms, nothing I can put down to anything.
I'm tired, I'm hungry & my head is throbbing.
He's quiet ATM. Laying on the floor at my feet playing with the carpet. He does settle for 5 or 10 minutes at a time every few hours, but it doesn't last.
I don't know what to do? Can I take him to the hospital with no real symptoms of anything? What would be the point. I feel like something is wrong, but I have no idea what.
I sat in the shower with him for about an hour last night, & am about to do that again. Its the only way he feels warm? I wanna take his temp, but he won't let me. He was wearing a long sleeved shirt, dressing gown & trackies all night & was still cold. Even with a blanket on. But sweaty too. Is that normal.
How much panadol would I need to take to get some through my BM to him? I know that sounds silly, & I won't try it, but I'm getting desperate.

big sounds like a fever if he was still cold but sweating as well. I dont know what to do but I hope someone jumpd in here that does soon for you

if the panadol was vomitted up within 5 mins I think you are safe to redose, but they can tell you that as well.

If you're worried, get to the dr, even if it's just for them to take his temp. Mummy instincts should be followed I reckon. There's no harm in rocking up and telling them exactly what you've told us.

Hope he feels better soon. Something is obviously upsetting him.

Go to the doctor. His behaviour is not normal and at least if you get a clean bill of health from the doctor that will put your mind at ease that he is not sick. If he threw up...could it be gastro??? Our whole family has had it over Easter...good times it's a savage little bug. My DD didn't have a temp but did feel quite cool and clammy sometimes.

Other than that...a change of scenery might be needed? Have you been home a lot over Easter or conversely had a lot of people around...is he completely overstimulated?

A long walk in the pram or baby sling (if your back can take it).

A nice deep warm bath with Mummy?

Some time playing on his mat in the back yard?

Another thought - did he have a lot of chocolate over the weekend? Could it be sugar-shock? (ok.. dunno if that's an actual condition... just my name for a reaction to lots of sugar) Maybe his blood sugars are off.. cold & clammy is a symptom of that isn't it? Obviously I'm no medico ... just thinking out loud for you.

I was thinking that too. I said the same to DH (who gave him more to stop the crying).
Too much chocolate, caffeine & sugar & whatever else goes with it. He's never really had any before, but was walking around helping himself to it.

I know its not gastro or anything like that. He threw up the panadol coz he worked so hard to not take it & choked it back up iykwim.

The choc/sugar overload is making alot of sense. He's hardly ever had anything like it before, so it would definetly be a huge shock to his system. I thought it'd have stopped today though.

I hate when that happens.. and you're left wondering if they chucked it ALL up and if you can give some more.

If you are worried hun take him to doctor or hospital...trust your mummy instinct. It could be a reaction to too much chocolate...but I would get his ears checked for an ear infection and get his urine checked for a Urinary tract infection.
