Payslips I don't really keep, not unless I think the employer might be a bit dodgy on payments. If you do want to keep them, then 1 year would be enough as you get a payment summary at the end of the financial year.
Anything used to compile tax returns I keep about 7 years, think it may have dropped to 5 and even 2 with some returns. Once the tax return it complete I put it all in a big envelope, write the year on it and put aside. It does not take up much room.
I keep bills for a year or 2. I have had to go back and check old bills for double payments etc, so I don't like to turf them straight away.
Superannuation I just keep the last statement from them. They send way to much paperwork over the year.
