Sambo- I thought as much. Thanks hun
Suga- I have no intention of trying to get my electricity for free. Thats the whole reason i called in the first place to ASK for my electricity bill. My problem was whether or not the bill would be accurate, however as a PP pointed out to me (thank you!) I now understand that the bill would be calculated from the reading taken when i first moved in, plus the electricity used since then :)

Yea they go off average from previous usage, so could possibly be lower than what u use or also a lot higher depending on the ppl that lived there before.
At our previous house we moved out about 3weeks b4 end of lease and a few months later we got a bill for the electricity for that house (most of that time the new ppl were living there) they realised their stuff up as we were still with the same company and they had details of the call i made when I organise electricity for the new house and asked them to stuff off at the old place, they just stuffed up the shut off, they then ammended the bill when i asked how they would know what was mine and what was theirs they said they went off other averge bills, which wasnt fair as we were no longer in the house most of the time so not using any electricity at all. In the end I just dealt with it and paud it, i was too busy as the time to argue and it wasnt that huge
I hope this bill isnt too bad for you and if it is I would take it further if you dont believe its accurate

If you call them back in the next day or so they may be able to tell you the amount while the bill is in transit.

We had that problem when we switched to Tru energy too....
I first rang them after about 6 months of no bill and they said they were having some sort of 'billing problem' but it should be fixed soon and they would send a bill ASAP. From memory I think they told me to ring back in a few weeks if I hadn't received anything. I remembered about 2 months later and rang again and they said they were still having a problem. From memory I think we didn't get the bill until over a year after we connected with them however, I did learn one important thing they can't charge you for power used over a year ago so if they don't send one soon it might be worth not ringing, I mean, you've tried to do your best and the honest thing. Once it's over 12 months they can only charge you for the immediately previous 12 months and no more;)

The EXACT same thing happened to us with Tru Energy too! Then when they sent the bill they demanded payment within 14 days! Was ok as I had been putting away for it anyway but ws a bit shocked that after they were so late to give us a bill AND I had to call to get one, they still wantd payment within 14 days?! Have now switched to Integral Energy, so far so good!
Good Luck!

Finally got the bill late last week... $746 for 9 months! Pretty good considering i have electricity only, no gas. I called to arrange a payment plan today. AND i discovered they hadn't taken off the discount for having a pension card, despite being told that all the details for it were in their records! Anyway, the amount will be adjusted and if i haven't got the new amount in the mail in 2 weeks then i have to call back again and ask for it! :)
