How utterly ridiculous :wall: I can't stress how hard I am virtually banging my head on that brick wall.
What is wrong with the world when a gorgeous pic of a breastfeeding mother causes someone's free speech to be violated, yet offensive, degrading and abusive material is not just tolerated but promoted??
I was steadily and more steadily getting shirty with Facebook, but now I'm just downright p***ed off, and major *major* thumbs down (politely put) to the person who reported Kelly's profile.
Geez, this world and some people in it are just stupid sometimes.
Can we get that fan page going for real, or a petition or something??
GRRRRR
I think if it's that bad, then the best way of responding is to stop using it.

I think there's a really strong anti- BF undercurrent in the US. Another US site I used to go to was full of stories about strangers telling BFing mothers off, giving them dirty looks, "do you (dare to) BF in public" threads, "how do you BF in public" questions, etc, etc.
Quite ironic, given that Hollywood is largely responsible for creating the perception that breasts are sexual objects. Turn on MTV and you see a lot more boob than you do when a mother a BFs.
What are they going to do when everyone starts to think that mouths are sexual objects because of the oversexualisation of mouths in advertising (think lipstick advertisements, where lips are designed to look like aroused vaginas, and check out they way mouths are used on MTV), and forget that the natural purpose of mouths is for eating and facilitating communication? Start hiding in closets to eat? Ban all photos of faces? Start cupping our hands over our mouths when we speak? Lunacy!
You're totally right, marcellus. And I'm seriously considering it, despite what I know it will do to my ability to stay in touch with people, with living rurally in the UK - but I'm sure I can find another suitable, morally/ethically/socially accountable place on the interweb to be social.:

hmm... if you linked to that FB quiz, I reckon that would be what flagged you. I doubt it's the breastfeeding photo... there's pages with loads of breastfeeding photos that aren't disabled, they just remove the photos.
Even tho your comment was opposing that page, you still linked to it, so I'd say that's what did it.
I was wondering who my missing friend was
So sick of the double standards on FB. So over it!
That's a really interesting point, Liz. If they have an automated flagging system then there's no way it would decipher the purpose behind linking/accessing the material. Has the quiz been removed?
It still doesn't change the huge issues about censoring though, and in this case Kelly's protest related to it.
OMG!!! Look what came up when I tried to create a fan page!!!!
:protest::protest::protest::

what the !!!!! Im appaled, as its been said by other posters there are some sick groups and quizzes out there even advertisments on fb i saw one the other day about older guys looking for young girls to be there sugar daddy on an advertisement down the side so obviously this has been approved by fb, they need to get there act together
Yeah I will try some other combinations... grr FB!!
That is among one of the more stupider things I've heard lately. :o
Maybe people should explain to them that we're a bit more enlightened about breastfeeding in Australia and they're not doing themselves any favours assuming that people over here are offended by breastfeeding?
Ok I have create one with no reference to Facebook in the title
I would prefer to have Kelly look at it first before putting it up, so I will need to screen shot it and email it to Kelly to see if she approves.
good work!!!! like others said, its easy for some to stop using FB, and i thought about it this morning, but with ALL my friends and family in the uk it really is the best and easiest way to keep in touch with everyone.
This is more ridiculous cr@p from Facebook.
I think we need to change tack. Perhaps instead of having days of action where we all post BF pics (just to have a few of them banned and be ignored by Facebook) we should have a day of action where every person finds one or two things that are obscene, and reports them. If enough people do that, we might become noticable...
FB admin/mods/whatever they heck they call themselves are totally ****ed in the head, I'm sure of it. I had a friend who was banned for a few months simply because one of her other friends made a comment on her wall saying "seriously -----, leave me alone I'm too scared to turn on my computer" and all it was about was she had been sending ****loads of dirty jokes to us and this friend was saying it in a joking way and my friend has no idea who reported it because her profile is totally private and no one can see her status comments unless you are her friend and none of her friends reported it because we were all getting the same jokes but someone on FB must have saw it and thought it was bullying? They didn't even ask what the situation was, they just ban your ass.
I just saw a profile called "BellyBelly Boobmuncher" :wtf:
