Last thing to do for maternity reform before Christmas - Submissions due 11 Dec!

It's a busy time of year - but something we need to get done THIS WEEK!

If you want an easy-peasy way to do it, just pm me your email addy and I'll send you a pro-forma letter provided by Maternity Coalition plus the basic info explaining it - so you have something to easily forward onto everyone in your contact list (who cares about choice and democracy).

More about it in Kelly's thread here:

You may have seen this article in The Age in which Pesce of the AMA crows about his ability to manipulate Nicola Roxon and quash homebirth in Australia.

He successfully lobbied Health Minister Nicola Roxon to make amendments to home birth legislation, ensuring that midwives would be denied Medicare payments unless they could prove they were working collaboratively with doctors.

The home birth lobby claimed the changes curtail a woman's right to choose how she gives birth, but Dr Pesce cites it as his greatest achievement so far as AMA president.
These letters were written in response to that. My dh sent in a letter, which was one of those published.

Have a look at this powerful montage The Real Birth Wars about the fight for birth choices in Australia. If you needed inspiration to write your submission, this would be it.

Let's get it done - then let's PARTY, it's Christmas time! Love and blessings to everyone for a fantastic holiday season.
