oh my gosh! im the same dont know whether to laugh or get teary they are outrageous!
Sigh...I was told during my labour with DD that I wasn't pushing hard enough and I was making the wrong noises, and if I'd pushed harder she'd be out by now instead of being stuck in the crown position and having to wait for the next contraction. To this day I wish I'd screamed at him to get out of the room, I wanted to, but I thought I was being rude! And then I was told off for flinching away when I was given some anaesthetic for a couple of stitches. Whenever I think back to DD's labour, all I feel is that humiliation.
I had a midwife come and visit me privately afterwards to tell me what a great job I'd done birthing a 9lb 6.5oz posterior baby without any pain relief and I try my best to remember that but the memory of feeling embarrassed while I was pushing DD out is still the thing I remember most.
I am however glad to say I do have a lovely OB this time around and I'm glad to see this website is introducing a section for positive things an OB has said. They can't all be insensitive clods.
