Hi All,

I sent an email to Jason Wood, our local MP around birthchoices.

He replied,
Hi Karyn,

Thanks for your email and for your support.

I am aware that parents in my electorate want to have the choice to give birth not only safely and with good medical care, but also where they feel comfortable.

I firmly support this choice.

I am extremely disappointed that the Rudd Government?s Maternity Services Review and subsequent legislation will put this choice in jeopardy. As you say, funding adequate services for hospitals and maternity care, like the Angliss, should be a priority for the Government.

Thanks for contacting me about this, as it is important that I am aware of my constituent?s concerns.

Kind regards

Jason Wood MP

and I replied as below ...

Thanks for the quick reply Jason.

I will be in Canberra on September 7 to let my voice be heard - would you be interested in meeting up with myself and other constituents of yours?

Karyn

His response today?

Absolutely! I will have my diary manager, Shan, contact you to arrange this.
Looking forward to it
Kind regards,
Jason

So ... we'll have at least one minister willing to stand with us!
