1/1/2014 - Jennifer13's baby girl arrives in a hurry!

So pleased to announce the very speedy arrival of our newest princess, born around midday in the shower at home. Surprised us all - midwives and doula didn't make it and she hurried out in about two pushes. I caught her and Daddy watched in shock (and turned the shower off just in time)!

Woke up at 3am in early labour, but contractions didn't get much closer than about 5-10 mins apart. Maybe an hour's active labour, but not really sure.

I feel fantastic, if a little surprised! Big sisters delighted (one woke from her nap to find she'd become a big sister).

2.86 kg and 50 cm long.

Update: we have named her Charlotte (still deciding middle name)

It means 'free man (person'. She's already shown herself to be a free spirit, so we thought it was apt!

Congratulations again Jen. What an awesome way for your DD to wake up. I can just imagine in 20 years telling friends etc "I went for a nap on New Years Day, and when I woke up I had another sister" LOL.
