Not to brag or anything, but I make the cutest babies, like, ever Amelia (Milly) is asleep on my chest right now, making the sweetest noises - she had the hiccups before, which ended in a massive burp and a mummy covered in drool
PZ, you're the damn superstar - even though my birth ended up with all the crap I didnt want, one thing I must thank you for is trying your hardest to keep me on the track I wanted. And although I haven't seen many yet, thank you for taking on the role of photographer
Sent from my iPhone so forgive the speelung misstacks
I have just woken up after getting home from the hospital at about 12.30 this afternoon. Wow. All of that...it actually happened!
God where to begin on something as life changing as that. My world is literally not the same. So many emotions.
So. Teni was in labour (if you count it from first gels) for around 26 hours and 15 minutes. I count it from about 1pm 9/3/11. That's when her contractions turned into real, eff off this is labour contractions from my observation. Really though, it could have been sooner. Teni, what do you reckon? I'll save all the details for my version of the birth story, but just wow. Tenielle, Scott and Leanne. I got to share something so bonding with all of you. Sometimes it was ****ing hard. Sometimes I wanted to scream. I cried at some points, through anger for Teni, through sheer damn tiredness. We laughed. Omg we laughed sooooo much. I'm so glad Scott got that video of us all in maternity ****ing ourselves laughing over your bear impression Teni And I got your bubbas first cry!! I did it. On video and audio, so screw the womens no video policy haha! I feel bonded with you Teni, you're more like a sister to me now than a friend. Seeing Amelia born was the most amazing experience. Wow. You did so well. I have shots of you freaking SMILING through the pushes...you have a big head sticking out of you and you're smiling!!! WTF is wrong with you, you crazy, beautiful person. I have shots as she left you, and the look on your face, shots of Scott, bewildered and in love. Some hilarious ones of your face...and a big pool of blood that sloshes onto the floor and my shoes Ah, I definitely need to get this birth story outta me soon, those memories are too precious to lose.
So a few things I missed out, correct me if I'm wrong (god I'm tired haha). So she weighed about 7.5 pounds, and was born at 8:52am (is that right babe?). She gave a huge first cry, and then settled happily on mummas chest. I've never seen a more content baby, and MAN, she is cute!!!!!! Can't wait to get some cuddles in a few weeks!!
Okay, might go write the birth story now. I feel like a changed person, I really do.
I love you guys!! Tenielle, Scott, Leanne and little Amelia.
oh PZ i cried just reading that!
Teni you sound like you did an amazing job! I remember how you must be feeling now when after all the heartache of an angel baby you get to hold and cuddle this baby thats so real so warm so full of love - enjoy!
Oh that is incredible, what a beautiful, beautiful story. I have tears in my eyes, thank you for sharing PZ. I can't wait to read the full birth story, I think it'll be inspirational
