Thanks M and thanks so much everyone for your lovely posts. Will post my birth story some time in the next month or so, but until then, here's a preview ...
As many of you know, my other 2 girls were born by c-section, so I was hell bent on having this little beauty naturally, much to the disapproval of most people in the medical field. We stayed at home and laboured until I was 10cm, with the help of my amazing doula, Liz Leys, then went into the hospital and pushed for I think just over an hour and a half. Those blood curdling screams you heard around 3.30pm on Tuesday (due to no drugs... not even gas!!) were me. Ridiculously painful, and unlike anything I have ever experienced, but would do it again in a heartbeat! My VBAC dream has come true and even with all these stitches and a little bit of pain I still have, I am sooooooooooo happy! Olivia (no middle name yet) Crank was born 19th April, 6 days overdue at 3:37pm. She weighed 4040g (8lb 14.5oz), 54cm long and head circumference was 35cm.
