    25-6-10 Our precious baby girl has made a very early arrival

    What a surprise! Yesterday our tiny baby girl decided to make a very early & spectacular entrance to the world. DP, DS and I are pleased to announce the arrival of

    Heidi Grace
    25-6-10 1:27am
    25 weeks + 6 days ~ 730grams ~ 34cm long

    After experiencing some cramping which didn't go away, we were advised to come into hospital to have it all checked out. On arrival we discovered I had fully dilated in under 3 hours and our baby was going to be with us soon. I will write a birth story over the next few days, but needless to say it was all very fast & furious. In the end, a drug-free vaginal birth with her out in a couple of almighty pushes, which is probably what saved her life.

    For such a premature gestation she is doing remarkably well. Obvisouly in NICU with a very long journey ahead of her, but she is already doing most of her breathing on her own and is definitely a little fighter with attitude.

    She is just beautiful and we are stunned to have her with us so soon. We're very optimistic but at the same time preparing for some hurdles in the months ahead.

    For those of you that are friends on FB, please keep our news quiet. We haven't widely announced her arrival just yet.

    Congratulations on the arrival of your gorgeous little girl Heidi!!! Like Alan said, WOW that is early!! She must be a fighter..... I hope her stay in hospital will be fast so she can be home with her family as soon as possible. I wish Heidi strength and wonderful health so she can be home very soon.

    Your little girl really couldn't wait to meet you could she!!

    OMGoodness that is early!! Wow what an amazing, fast and furious birth (you got your VBAC long before you expected to!).
    Great news that she is doing so well.
    Congratulations on the birth of your princess, wishing her a swift journey through NICU and back home to you all.
    Welcome Heidi!! I guess you couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about!

    Welcome Heidi, although early, clearly you are determined

    My niece was born at 24 weeks and did amazingly well with no ongoing issues at all, so I hope you and Heidi will have a similar journey, all the best for the days ahead and a speedy discharge for your little fighter

    huge congrats huni. i was born at 24 weeks - 1lb 8oz myself and iam ok. I hope Heidi is out of nicu soon. xox

    That is an amazing story and it's great that you were in hospital in time for her birth.

    Woah, congratulations! Welcome little Heidi, I'm looking forward to hearing about you getting stronger and can't wait til you're back home with mummy and daddy where you belong

    ETA - Infinity, there's a facebook group dedicated to another little premmie (he was born at 23w5d and is going strong 13 weeks later) you might want to look at - Kian the fighting tiger - I know when things like this happen it's nice to connect with similar stories All the best, and remember we're here when you need us
