Hello wonderful friends,
Tonight I have birth to my first baby, Jacob John !
It was an emergency c section at 38 weeks, I went into hospital at 4:30pm for my routine antenatal 38wk appointment, and the midwife picked up an irregular heartbeat... Long story short, Jacob was born in theatre at 8:42pm. The naughty boy had the cord wrapped around his neck! A miracle the midwife picked it up at just a normal appointment!
He is so beautiful and I am bursting with love for the little man. I got about 10min of cuddles in theatre and now he's in special care nursery, DH went with him to nursery and he's healthy and well.
Tomorrow morning they'll bring him up to my room for a feed
Not the birth I researched, prepared and planned for, but I'm not disappointed or upset and still felt I made an empowered and correct decision to go with the c/s.
Healthy mum, healthy bubs, thats what really matters and thats what we have
Wow BBB!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!! What a surprise to have him early!!!! I am so glad the MW found that and he was born as soon as possible!!! Thank goodness for that!
Well done on giving birth to Jacob!!! Rest up and I hope his first feed goes really well

Little update, they brought him up to me from special care nursery at 2am and he latched right onto my boob and fed for 15min. So proud of him! All staff were thrilled and released him from special care to my bedside in the ward
We had another 30min feed at 5:30, so he's going really well!
