Huge congratulations Beema, you've done a sterling job keeping your little girl in there this long. Hope you can enjoy snuggles with your newborn very soon x
OMG Beema, I saw the birth announcement and thought I was seeing things. Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little princess. Yay Flicker for staying in so long.
Oh my! I have just finished reading through the thread!
Thankyou all so much for your beautiful messages, we are just absolutely thrilled and her big sister adores her, even moreso since baby gave her some Lego
Firstly a HUGE thankyou to MummyTummy for doing my BA , gorgeous hun!!
We still don't have a name for our gorgeous little girl yet, we are getting to know her personality and we have a short list which is getting longer but hopefully it will take us less than a week as that is how long it took to name DD1!
We had a beautiful CS, and I can't wait to share the whole story, but will need a bit of time to write it all down, she had some difficulty with her breathing and her Paed was concerned about her developing HMD, so after a short cuddle in theatre she was taken to SCN and put in a cot on O2, and she had begun to stabilise within a few hours and we avoided a transfer. I have been very determined to BF right from the start and even though I have been "threatened" by the MW's (a bottle of F put on top of her isolette for every feed ) top ups, I have remained firm and she has been attaching very well and is a strong sucker. Her Paed said we should throw away the scales, they cause uneccessary stress and that we should just be left to develop our own relationship. But very exciting news that my milk has come in overnight and after losing almost 10% we had a 30gram gain this morning So we have avoided the NGT, IV, Bottles etc and done it all by ourselves
Thankyou all again and hopefully I will be able to return with a name soon! xxoo
Sounds like your paed is as special as your OB
Clever little bubba, breastfeeding already, no NG tube, how amazing!!! Stay strong, if you are determined to breastfeed her, I am confident you will succeed
How crazy exciting that she is finally HERE!!!
Lovely to hear that the c/s wasn't too traumatic, little Flicker is doing so well and I am really thrilled that the b/f is going so fantastically - long may it continue! A huge well done to you both
