Hey everyone...we're home!! Thanks for the well wishes, they're most appreciated. When I get more I'll write more about the birth, but in a nutshell:
After a couple of hairy moments and an almost 12 hour labour which failed to progress, Jack came into the world BELLOWING thanks to an assisted forceps delivery. A huuuuge thank you has to go to the Mater Hospital (Brisbane) Midwifery Group Practice midwives (Julie Burnett in particular who was with us the entire time), the midwives at the Mater (Sally especially, whose surname escapes me) who looked after me when Julie had to head home for some well deserved rest after the birth, the obstetric and surgical staff who assisted with the delivery and the midwives in the post-natal ward who looked after us wonderfully until we left.
PS...Jack's weight was incorrect (Chris relayed it to me in the excitement) he was 4.324 kg...but the length was right at 57cm and his head circumference was 36cm.
Oh...and a huuuuuge, huuuuuge thanks to my gorgeous husband for being so supportive and not leaving my side for a second! Love your guts!!!
