Cool 2nd baby after going overdue with first one

not sure if im putting this in the right place so feel free to move it if its wrong
dd was born 8 days overdue from my lmp date, i didnt start to get any pre labour or anything that i remember until around 37 - 38wks and then she was born at 41+1.. i am currently 34+3 and have been having some period type pains, not bad ones really just niggles mostly but sometimes its bad enough to wake me up or worry me and its started me thinking will i be late this time too and have to go through 6 or 7wks of this??
how many of u went over with ur first bub and then again with the second?? out of curiosity
    TIA

First I was a week early, waters broke and I got induced the next day. I had only a week or so of prelabour.
Second I was 2 weeks over. I went into labour the morning I was supposed to be induced. I had roughly 4 weeks of pre labour type pains.
Ashton I had at least 2 months of it, I was induced a week early due to SPD, but I hadn't dropped and Ashton was still high and floating at 39 weeks (may have been his size 11lbs 39cm head) so I think I possibly would have gone over with him.

I don't think it makes a difference It really just depends when bubs wants to make an entrance!

With DD I went four days early but I am going to go late with this one as my 'due date' is tomorrow and there is absolutely no sign of him/her making their entrance. It's now just a matter of how far over I go.
Like Mel said I don't think your history makes any difference. These little ones come when they want regardless of what we want.

    Hi Tia.
I had the same question as you when i was pregnant. First, i had no pre labor at all and was induced 9 days over. Second time had prelabor for about 5 weeks and got really bad at the end and ended up being induced 10 days over. It sucked big time.
    Good luck.

I was 2 weeks over with the first, and have gone over with every single one.

I am going over again. *sigh*

Keep in mind its more common than not, to go over with a first baby.

My first DD was 17 days post EDD and my second DD was 11 days post Edd. My first was induced and my second was spontaneous labour.

DD1 was born at 41 weeks. DD2 was 40+4. Had loads more prelabour pains with DD2.

:yeahthat: But, FWIW, DD was later than the boys - I cannot tell you how much later as my dates were clearly wrong...she was born 2 days after her EDD & was so overcooked, she was brown wrinkled & peeling. The boys were 13 & 10 days late & looked fine. So yeah, all late...just not as late.

    Good luck

I was also 8 days overdue when my first was born (apparently 8 days over is the average for a first born, aren't our babies clever? ). I didn't have any pre-labour that I knew of.

I had lots of pre-labour with DS2 and he was born 5 days post-dates. So he was ever so slightly earlier than my first . I was glad he wasn't born 4 days overdue or he would have arrived on his brother's 3rd birthday!

I know Evie, it was a very close call! All I could say was "Phew!" when DS1's birthday came and went without me going into labour LOL!
