    Advice needed re induction

Ok so if you had missed it I posted this on Saturday night:

    https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ow-148893.html

Long story short. Was going to have my waters broken Sunday afternoon as I had been having irregular contractions for 2 days. They set everything up and got in there to break the waters and then decided baby was too high and sent me home many tears later...

I rang the hospital last night because I was having really bad right sided chest pain whenever I tried to breathe in and out, she told me to take some panadol and call her back in 40 mins which I did, the pain eased enough to let me get to sleep but I've woken up and its there again, seems to get alot worse when I try to get up and move around. I'm about to give them another call. But...

I'm wanting some help with something. I've got my last scheduled antenatal appointment today, I will be 40 +9 and the hospital policy is not to let you go past 40 +10, so that means they would be attempting to induce me tomorrow. My problem is I don't see the point in driving the 40 minutes for a 15 minute appointment if they are going to send me home again and tell me to come back tomorrow morning. So...

What do I do? Do I go today and get there and dig my heels in and say "no I'm not going home this afternoon, if you want me back in the morning then you can break my waters now just as well as you can in the morning." or do I cancel the appointment and rebook it for Wednesday or Thursday when I will be past their accepted gestation??

Sorry I know that was all a little long winded but my head is a mess, we were screwed around pretty badly on Sunday and will be making a complaint about the midwife we had as he was pretty bad, but in the meantime we still have to birth a baby so I need some friendly advice.

Thanks if you made it through my waffle

Sorry to hear ur having such a rough time

I would maybe ring the clinic, and explain the situation to them, I.e. U live too far away to go today and come back the next day when u can just go in today or tomorrow and have it done with?

Usually they're pretty understanding, and worst comes to worst, and they say no u have to come in and well decide then what to do, just hang up, call back and cancel the appt til tomorrow or the next day lol

Hope all goes well and u have ur bubba soon!!

I'd take your labour bag to the appointment, tell them how bad the pain is and you never know, they might be able to induce you today. But if the baby is too high and they break your waters it is dangerous, so you don't want that. Fingers crossed it works out well for you. x

Called to check the pain wasn't me dying cause she mentioned last night that it could be a blood clot in my lung anyhow she said monitor it etc but thinks its muskuloskeletal, so I decided to ask her WTF is going on while I was on the phone as she has been the best midwife I've spoken to so far. I'm meant to have an appointment at 1:50 today she said when I get there they will do an internal and see whats happening with the baby if I'm dilated enough they will send us down to have my waters broken like they were meant to on sunday if I'm not then they will have to book me in for an induction cause they aren't meant to let me go past 40 weeks +10 days which is what I will be tomorrow.
She said if they try to book the induction for tomorrow night that I should dig my heels in and say I'm not leaving because its too much screwing around for us to be driving the 40 mins everytime and having to pay $35 for petrol and parking each visit so if they book the induction they will send us off to have a nice arvo together and some dinner then get us back in at 7 and put the prostin gel in which helps the cervix dilate and thin outand then if nothing happens naturally overnight they will break my waters in the morning.

    Nope not Frankston hospital.

Ella as i had a similar stuff up with tooing and froing with t Frankston Hospital until we dug our heals in and didnt budge... especially as i had a high presentation and i was dilating and cx and they wanted to send me home as i wasnt in there policied 'established' labour. I was in hopsital for 48 hrs and they made it out to be a week and i finally had our little boy naturally after my waters broke .... so what im saying is dig those heals in girl and tell them how much pain un comfortableness your in and you would like help to have your baby as your baby is 10 days over and enough is enough.

These policy really **** me off

I was 39w 4 days and they finally agreed that i will be booked for the induction on the sunday 24 Oct (after they had seen me in labour on and off and so much so i was 2-3 cm dilated and using a the gas in my room on and off for the two days) BUT he came on the 23 oct

Thanks girls. I'm just getting ready now to leave. We are going to see Harry Potter in Gold Class before we go to the hospital appointment.

Bubno.3- Yep I think I agree with you. Basically I have no one to look after DS tomorrow. Dad is going to drive up as soon as I call him to say its all on but he can only stay till early tomorrow morning as he has work. So I'll be digging my heels and and saying I'm not bloody going anywhere unless you drag me out by my hair.

So I walked DS to day care as I thought it would be good to help bring on labour. Turns out DS decided he didn't feel like walking so I ended up carrying him, his lunchbox and his school bag almost all the way. Got there puffed and turned around to come home again. Half way home I tripped off the kerb and sprained my ankle then had to limp all the way home cause DF was out... success. No really could things go any better lol. So now I will be the lady in labour limping around the hospital trying to decide if labour or the ankle is worse at the time lol

Hopefully Harry Potter will be so exciting I'll go into labour and just rock up and have her lol

I'm genuinely considering finding all these threads I've posted and printing them and popping them in this little girls baby book so she can have a good laugh when she's older.

    I love life!!
