I went into labour but it stopped when I got to hospital. I had ARM and synto and got through it with gas. I was keeping peth and epi in reserve for later but I didn't need them. Arrived at hospital at 3pm and had her at 9.15.

Looks like I won't need synto afterall. Turns out my waters aren't leaking - just a watery show over 12hrs or so. And contractions have started on their own. Being upright makes them stronger but seeing as it's night time I wanted to get as much rest as I could before actively trying to get labour going.
    It's just before 4am now & I don't think I'm getting back to sleep. They're 10-15mins apart & getting ouchy
I'm hoping for drug free. Last birth I tried gas but it just made me less focused - and I felt like I needed to focus! I've had opiates for pain relief with a broken bone before and I reacted badly - so that's out. So epi is only real option if I feel I need it, & I think I'll only need it if the labour is particularly long & I get too tired to manage the contractions. So fingers crossed it's less than 25hrs, like last time!

I only used gas. O did require a csection even after getting fully dilated after 4 hrs.

My labour was totally rushed. I never knew but you can request that thru turn the drip down or off.

I really hope all goes as you'd like. My first labour was 23hrs and second was 3.5hrs but that involved the synto so not sure how things would have gone otherwise. I know with gas it also made me feel a little yuk at timse and what they'd do is turn that off and i'd just have air, breathing and biting down on the mouth piece seemed to help me through contractions aswell.

Good luck can't wait to hear how you went
