anyone else had tightenings?

I am 33 1/2 weeks and have been having "tightenings" for the past few days. My DS was born 32 weeks with my waters breaking so I have never really done the labour thing
I have been to the hospital and they kept me for 2 days cos the contractions got to 3 mins apart but still not painful... just there! I guess what I want to know is if anyone else experienced this before having their baby, are they going to die down or just stay about 10 mins apart for the next 6 weeks?

I'm a little further than you and i've been getting really tight feelings for weeks now. And their getting stronger and more often. I've been into hospital twice for false labor so far. The nurses there are probably sick of seeing me by now. Lol.

nay23, it could go either way although if they are still staying fairly regular I would be more inclined to expect labour soon kwim?

With my DS1 I had BH for 2 weeks before hand and in the 24hrs prior to labour they were 8-10min apart & not painful, just very very regular. They eventually became uncomfortable & we were away.

Having said that, every woman, and every labour is different...there are ladies on here who have loads of BH & nothing happening for weeks.

You might find this happening for weeks on end...or you might find yourseld in labour...it's hard to say - sorry I know that's not much help!

Obviously the hospital were concerned. My advice would be to take it easy just in case....Good Luck!

as you can see im only 24wks, but i get them daily now. I did when i was pregnant with Lilli aswell, though they did eventually start to dilate my cervix. They started around the 28wk mark then, and they where regualr as well. Seems like i would get them every day, then for a few hrs they would come every 10mins. Lilli ended up coming at 37wks 4days, so who knows hun, yes you may end up with them for the next few weeks, or maybe this bundle may make an early apprence to.

I can only speak from my own experience...

With Brendan, my waters broke at 28 weeks, he came at 30+1. So like you had no idea about what was beyond the gestation he was born.

With Tristan, I went into spontaneous labour at 26+2 weeks but held on and gave birth at 34+3. I'd been having tightenings since approx 20 weeks with him.

My advice is to take it easy and rest up Well best you can with an almost 2yo
