Anyone lose weight just prior to labour?

I lost just over half a kilo recently, and when i mentioned it in my mothers group they said that can be a sure sign labour is near... I'd never heard of it before, so am wanting to know if anyone lost some weight just prior to labour starting....?

Last night I had about 5 or 6 contractions in an hour, and thought for sure I might be going into labour, but once I changed positions they disappeared.... i never had ANY contractions besides the real thing with my first pregnancy.... its driving me mad!! I've still got 3 and a half weeks before my official EDD, but am thinking I could go at anytime...

So can anyone tell me the details of dropping weight before labour....?? Can't believe I'd never heard that before.

Yep, I lost a kilo the week before I had DS.

I have heard that before but I don't know the science behind it.
