Just a quick question, I have been told that the cream they use to induce you is artificial sperm, wondering if anyone knows if this is true or not?

If it is true does that mean having sex will bring the baby on??

i have never heard it called artificial sperm LOL. but i think some of the properties of it are also found in sperm. and yes, sex is supposed to help bring on labour, for this reason. \/

My cousin recently told me (she's a midwife) to have sex if I want to try to bring on labour, because of the sperm.

Like the others have said the gels they use to induce you first in hospital have projesterone in them which is also found in sperm. HTH!

when i was pregnant with my daughter i was told to have sex everyday or second to bring on labour and it worked im not sure if it was the sex or it was time but all i know my daughter was 5 days over due

I think the strength of the prostaglandins in a mans sperm is very low compared to the gel that they use on your cervix to induce labour. But every little bit counts hey?

When I was 6 days overdue my midwife told me that if I wanted to bring on contractions with sex we would have to do it every 4hrs for the next 2 days for it to work. Now that's a whol lot of sex!

Our midwife told us 20 times in a row to get the same amount as in the induction gel, all the boys in our class were excited I can tell you that.

Hell no, imagine being full term and having sex 20 times in a row, I reckon you'd be paralised after that IF you made it all the way through, I doubt you'd even be able to stay awake for that long.
