I had a s&s yesterday afternoon and for the rest of the day got some strong but irregular contractions. These all settled down overnight. I also had a little bit of blood and only when I wiped. Again this didn't last long- maybe a couple of hours.
Now this afternoon I have been getting some blood stained mucus which is increasing to the point where I have to wear a pad. The blood looks new (ie not brown more a dark red). Is this the start of a show or still the result of the s&s?
And if it is my show , how soon after would labour start properly? (been having some contractions which I haven't been timing but don't seem regular).

Yep, definitely sounds like your show. I think labour very often starts within 48 hours of your show, but it can vary a great deal of course, as wiith all things.
In my experience my waters broke at 1:50am i got to hospital at 2:30am and i reckon around 3ish i had my bloody show. I was already wearing a pad and it was very pink and it only happened the once. My labour was very long so at 5am i started having contractions which were between 20-10 mins apart and it took 18 hours for them to become regular.
Thanks for the quick replies girls. Things do look like they are moving along here- more definite contractions and I'm tossing up wether to start timing or go to bed lol. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
i had a S&S on thursday 16th dec 10 and my baby boy was born at 4:23am on the 18th
i didnt get any blood from the s&s on the thursday but when i woke friday morning i had my mucus show ALL day and by the time midnight come i started having regular contractions and quite close together lasting around the 1 minute per contraction, i got to the hospital at 2am and was already 4cm dialated (may i add on the thursday i was already 3cm dialated) so this is why they did the s&s then at 3:20am my waters broke and yeah at 4:23am he was born
So goodluck honey im pretty sure your going into labour, sounds like your doing exactly what i did, hopefully you will have a little bubba tomorrow morning
I have no idea, am still waiting for a sign other than strong contractions. Just wanted to say good luck, hope it is the start for you. And that I'm sooo jealous of you right now lol.
With your decision to start timing ctx or go to bed... Choose bed!! Get as much rest in while you can sounds like you'll be needing all your energy real soon! Good luck!
I am still having contractions, still haven't started timing, but sooooo tired as I didn't sleep well. Figure I will go for a walk to try to get things moving. Hopefully I will be holding bubba later today.
