Just looking for a bit of advice, My due dates not untill next Monday, however I've been getting cramp like pains on and off since last wednesday. They're never regular and do tend to go up and down in terms of pain, I can still walk & breathe through them. The cramps haven't really bothered me because I've figured it's just my body getting ready for the labour, I've also had a lot of pressure and at our last appointment, a week and a half ago, the doc told us that he's engaged and ready to go. This pressure's gotten pretty intense over the past few hours though, almost a cramp pain in my groin.
I haven't had a show at all and no back pain that I would pass off as anything other then normal. I'm sure my waters haven't broken however I've definatly noticed a substantial increase in dampness, which I've put down to vaginal discharge?
I suppose the main thing that has me worried is the decrease in movement of bubs, although I do realise the lack of space may be contributing to that, however I'd hate to think he might be in distress and I'm sitting here watching tv lol.
This may just be me being totally clueless and anxious as it's our first bub, I just wanted to get a bit of advice before ringing the hospital and sounding like a total idiot if it's nothing
As Winter said... if in doubt get checked out that's what they are there for.
If you do go in for monitoring they will often give you a sugary drink to try & 'kick start' bub. Also you can try lying down on your RHS & resting for a bit....
Some women notice a decrease in movement shortly before labour (have to say though, I'm not one of them).
Thanks Winter, I think I will give them a call and see what they think...although I strongly suspect it's more a case of me wanting it to be the start of something, rather then it actually being anything!
This kind of prelabour you are talking about can be very normal and remember while it can be annoying and not be true labour it is all doing it job to make ur actual labour easier. I agree to call and get checked if you are even the slightest concerned...I hope this might be it for you
