And was very, very happy!

My list/birth plan.
1, no canula - long as its fine with my gp/ob, its fine with them.
2, Active labour - all the mw's have recently done active labour courses anyway, so they encourage it.
3, Physiological delivery of placenta (I think thats it) - No worries
4, Delayed cord clamping - They prefer it that way anyway.
5, No monitoring unless they have good reason - They prefer not to, to help with active labour etc.
6, avoid positions that will affect my spd - she knows about it & has it on record. Something else that kinda comes under their active labour plan anyway.
7, Limited internals, to maybe one if I choose to check my progress. Fine, long as I let the mw know, coz they are all different & have their different preferences.
8, They prefer skin to skin contact at birth & encourage breastfeeding asap. They do no weights, measurements etc til there's been time to bond.

I can't remember if there were other things I wanted to talk about or not, I think that was it, but the best thing I found out was that the head mw IS a lactation consultant & so is the mchn I'll be seeing post birth! I've let her know I'd like extra support with bfing post birth, let her know the issues & that I suffer vasospasm & she is more than happy to help.

I'm so happy with them & their policies etc. The way they prefer to do things. They also have cloth available for me to use in hossy, so I don't have to worry about my own.

I just wish now that I'd had all this with my previous babies.

Thanks to all you on here at BB though for being there for me, so I could know that I have the right to all these things. I've been lucky & had good birthing experiences, but along the way come across things i prefer to avoid & its a relief to know that they agree that this is MY labour, & that it is to go MY way. If there's anything I don't like, that I have been told I have the right to say no. I feel more empowered this time around. It feels good
