hun i cant believe your overdue!! boy time flew!!
DD1 was 11 days early so i fully expected to go early again! but DD2 arrived at 40+3 so i know the 'ive never been overdue feeling' hang in there. have you tried some induction stuff at home?
Just a quick vent...
I'm 41 weeks and 1 day with my second child as of today (I was due 26.06.). DD was born naturally at 39+3 so I am new at being "over". Everyone expected this bubba to be early, too. My MW even worried about it coming before 37 weeks.
It feels like I've been waiting for this baby to be born for forever and a day. But I am very lucky that I don't feel too uncomfortable and don't have a problem to still be pregnant.
My parents live in Germany and my mum arrived 2 1/2 weeks ago to be there at the birth and to help with the baby. She's only stying another 4 weeks. So I really really want this baby out now so that she has lots of bonding time with her new grandchild and so that I can maximise on having live in help...
Having said that, I really don't want to be induced....I had such a lovely natural waterbirth with DD and am hoping for another beutiful birth experience. So I'm constantly telling myself that another day or so won't make a difference and that bubba will come when it's good and ready. I just wish it was good and ready by now...
Sorry for the rant, just needed to get my frustration off my chest.

Thanks, AJP! Yes, time certainly has flwon by. But now it seems to be moving at snail pace. I'm starting to feel like this is never going to happen and I'm gonna be preggers forever...
If you don't expect to go over, it just feels like forever, doesn't it. With DD I fully expected to go a week over, but then she surprised me and came early... I'm hoping being late is a sign of a slightly more placid baby ;-) God help me if it's another little monkey!
I have so far been drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea since 34 weeks (built up to 3-4 cups a day which I have been drinking since 37 weeks). I have been taking EPO orally since 37 weeks and internally for 4 nights now. Been walking heaps, playing soccer and dancing with DD, playing horsey on my hand and knees with her. Today I even did some heavy duty landscaping (carrying besser bricks around). Oh, and had very spicy Laksa for dinner...
Sex is out of the question. Apart from not being in the mood for it, my mum is staying with us and she's up half the night, so it's just not an option.
DH has to go away for business Monday and Tuesday (we planned it for after the due date, cause we thought bubs would come early...). If I don't have a baby by then, I think I might have a stretch and sweep on wednesday and maybe book in for some accupuncture. Anything to get the ball rolling.
Any other ideas are welcome.
Bubs is well positioned, so who knows what the holdup is. I keep telling the bump that this is way past what they call "being fashionably late". We all just wanna meet him or her...
I guess this baby took me a little too literally when I said that this is my last pregnancy and I want to make the most of it...

I hope the wait isn't too much longer for you.
Definitely give acupuncture a go.
I also read somewhere that fasting can help bring on labour...![]()
Oh I know how you feel. I am getting all the right signals, just no green light yet.
Although, when I get one of those really strong contractions (which are sporadic at best right now) I am instantly reminded that I am scared ****less. Probably not helping, lmao. I don't know if I can do this now. I hope when it comes for you it is quick and easy. Worth the wait!
have just banned myself til the 19th so will look forward to seeing you birth story when i get back! Im sure bub will come and your mum will get to have loads of cuddles before she heads home..
BTB i had a S &S with our little man and didnt really feel a thing.... just incase you get loads of horror stories before then
Have a wonderful birth!
Thanks, girls for your well wishes.
I saw my MW today and had an internal (on my request) to see how favourable my cervix was for a s & s. it was borderline, so decided against the procedure. Might have another look at it on Wednesday.
Also got the details of an acupuncurist and will make an appointment for Wednesday (DH comes back Tuesday night). Also had some more monitoring today and bubba seems really happy and content in there.
Actually, I'm kinda glad I'm not having the baby today. DD came down with a stomach bug today. Vomiting, Diarrhoea, stomach cramps and generally being miserable. I'm glad I can be there for her whie she really needs her mummy (I have NEVER seen her this miserable). And I'm also glad that I don't have a newborn around her atm. Newborns and stomach bugs are not a good mix. So maybe the baby just knew better not to come out just yet...
Tegam, why have you banned yourself til the 19th? I sure hope I will have a birth story for you by then
Inertia, you are only 4 days "behind me". I hope you have an easy quick-ish labour and beautiful birth and soon, too. Don't be scared, you have done this a few times now. You're a pro!
Marcellus, Fasting???? That so goes against my instincts right now... But, if I get desperate, I might give that a go.
Sasa
i did accupunture and waters broke 12 hours after last treatment but i had been going weekly from 35 weeks. definatly give it ago!!
i hope bubs hangs on now til al least wednesday!
I know! If I can still be scared of the pain of labour come number 6, then all those first time mummies feeling scared and second time mummies thinking they are being irrational for feeling scared need not worry about how their feeling being bad.
TRYING to get them to pick up now. We really want them to take hold some time tonight so that we can get the kids to school and head to the hospital. Hoping thats why its been so slow. haha. I know I dont *want* to go through it, but I have to. So the sooner the better, right?
Hoping for at least the same for you! The 30th for me was the last possible EDD based on DTD dates. Because its a girl I had to add 4 days for the life of female swimmers! So based on DTD, I was the 26th too, hehe. 22nd and the 26th on dtd days.
Hey hun,
I can't believe your due date has been and gone!! That went so fast.... (maybe not for you tho)
I went 7 days over with DD and it was awful having to wait that long!!!! What a killer!
I hope it happens anytime now for you which it will..... not long nowall the very best for an empowering labour and birth hun can't wait to hear your story.!!!
Had lots of blood stained mucus this morning. That's how things started with DD and she was born 12 hours later...
But no contractions to speak of yet. Wondering if the blood could be a result of the internal I had yesterday morning?
How annoying if bubba chose the 2 days that Daddy is away...
Hope all goes well!
Thanks for all your thoughts and well wishes.
Contractions started at 1:45am. I managed to sleep between them until 5am. Then things revved up a bit. tried to leave for the hospital at 6:45am but got urge to push. Daniel was born into my mother's hands at 7:06 in our loungeroom while waiting for the ambulance. They arrived 15 minutes later and drove us to the birth centre!!!
Full birth story will come later.
Sasa
