So i will be 35weeks tom with twins. They are both head down with twin 1 very low. Over the past weeks i have noticed more frequent tightnings which i have assumed are BH. I have been very uncomfortable for the past 2-3 weeks esp and have more recently had some very emotional days where i just want it all over! The plan is induction at 36 weeks but my ob made a comment 3 weeks back that maybe i "would go earlier".
I have a habit of reading into things and get very excited only to find everything settles down but today is a little different so was wondering what others think.......
So i noticed this morning i was having a few BH - i'm very keen to go into labour ASAP so i decided i would take the dog for a walk. Later in the morning i was still noticing them but they weren't painful and not unlike other days.
Then at about 2pm i noticed they were more frequent and regular - not painful but i def knew they were happening and i was having alot of mid to lower back pain. So i began cleaning the house!!
My tummy gets very tight (but more up high) and i am having alot of pelvic pressure and groin pain particuly if i'm standing or walking. They were coming about every 10mins for a few hours then died off now have started again. I also have the need to pee more frequently and keep thinking i need to do number 2's but when i'm on the toilet i don't. I also get alot of pressure/tingling in my vagina (sorry tmi!).
No signs of waters breaking and i have had white mucous for weeks and weeks. They are still happening now but no definate pattern?
Anyway i would be interested to know your thoughts!
It could be, especially if you notice a progression i.e. increasing intensity and/or closer together.
Since you're quite early still, maybe it'd be a good idea to talk to a middy at your hospital for advice?
It sounds like things are getting very close and moving into position for labour to start. Its hard to say from what you have described if your labour is about to establish now or over the next few hours/day or if this will linger on for another week. Your body knows what to do its getting ready for the birth now and as to when that will be that is hard to say. All these things are making you that bit closer to been ready to go when it does happen. Goodluck. Your so close.
:yeahthat: it might be, it might not be...but either way it sounds like it won't be far away
I had BH for weeks before, when I did finally go into labour it was a couple of hours before I was certain it WAS labour.
I think Marcellus's idea to call hossy is a good one, can't hurt.
And if it's not labour, just remember it's all doing a beautiful job preparing your body
yep ring the hospital to just let them know whats happening, always best to keep them in the loop...
Its sounds like it could just be BH, but you never do know... I know it so hard when everyone tells you that you will know when its something more, but believe me you will...
I was once told that if your unsure take a panadol or something simlier for the pain if the pain goes away then its BH...
but other than that the very Best of luck as it sounds like very soon you will have you little ones with you...
I spoke the hosp and they suggested i go in... so i did....
they put me on the monitor and watched the bubs - they were happy, my tightnings were registering they were frequent but not intense. They did an internal which showed the "cervix softning but at the back" she said "i can fit one finger so about 1cm dilated" They then gave me some panadeine forte to see if things slowed/stopped and they slowed so i decided to go home get some sleep and wait til my clinic appt today. They did bloods andchecked my urine all ok.
So today i still have pressure but the tightnings seem to have gone... so prob pre labour stuff - so was told today just wait and see!!!!!
Any thoughts on what she meant by "cervix at the back" and if i'm already 1cm (i know it's not much!) will things progress over days/weeks?????
Hopefuully one of the midwives on belly belly could shed some light!!!
