    Braxton Hicks/Real Contractions....

What is the difference in the way they feel?

I have never had BH. But all night and this morning I am having cramps, sometimes they turn out to be wind but they arent regular - so not timing them......

I feel like my whole belly is tightening but the cramps are centralised down lower, and sometimes the cramps seem to extend to my (TMI!!) but hole....???!!

Does this sound more like BH or the real thing? Maybe the real thing building up slowly?

Oh I just dont know, with DD I didnt have BH either, just woke up one morning and the cramps started at regular intervals, as they are not regular just hoped for some input!

Kitt3n, if the cramps are starting at the top of your bump and moving lower down into your bum I would be thinking that they are more like labour pains. And early ones at that.

Do you have any other signs ? loose poos, a show etc ?

yep I had a loose #2 this morning too, and how you described the cramps, yes that is how they feel

No show - never had one with DD either, and waters never broke with her .....

I think i'll give up on cleaning the house today

Seeing as how your having bub at home I thought you'd be cleaning madly

Remember this might go on for a couple of days hun so try not to get too excited. Yeah right!!

I'd say things are definately starting to happen for you though.

Goodluck, I wish you well and I hope your birth goes just perfect for you.

Thankyou guys - and Trish you are right, I am looking around and I just can't handle it like this, the vacume is coming out!

Its funny - 2 friends from work had their baby girls yesterday, my friends cousin had her son yesterday, and my friends sister had her daughter the day before - there is something in the air me thinks!

Oh how exciting. I hope it is the real deal! Goodluck with everything.

Not sure about you but i am going to find it so weird staying at home waiting for bub to come instead of saying ok time for hospital. I think i'll get bored lol.

LOL T at you getting bored. Don't think there is much chance of that hun. It's much more relaxing knowing that you don't have to get into the car to travel anywhere.

Kitt3n, that vaccuming might be a good thing for you. The stretcing etc, will help to open your pelvis up a little.

It sounds like the real deal to me too! My labour with DS2 started with what felt like wind and an upset tummy, then the normal contractions started.

I spent the day vaccuming, hanging out washing, etc. It helped keep my mind of things and being upright and walking around helped heaps.

    Best of luck

Sounding like pre labour hun. It's ok though, remember slow and steady wins the race

Your body is working as it needs to be, your cervix has to thinnen out and move forward first, then it can dilate. These contractions should be getting everything on it's way.

Fingers crossed for you your hubby is right
